Text role play is a slower paced, novel like experience that may not be for everyone. For those who enjoy reading and writing and possess the patience, this may just be the right type of game for you. If this is your first experience with text role play or you're an avid vet, we all need to know a few guidelines to follow.
1. Please Keep OOC (Out of Character) chatter to a minimum, as it disrupts the flow of role play. In roll20, any written entry that is not following a /me will be considered OOC. Examples of OOC are: The GM asking for dice rolls, questions about the game, conversation in between turns while others are typing.
2. Be respectful and patient. Some people take more time to type then others, be considerate of this, but on the same token please try not to take more then five minutes on a post. We enjoy reading, but no one wants to read several paragraphs.
3. Contiunation of post. Some chat systems have a limit to how much one may type in a chat box. If you run into this limit, just end your first post with a (c) so that others will know that you're still working on your post.
4. Type and then roll. Please explain your actions before you roll. If you are in a battle, write out in third person how your character is swinging his weapon, where he's swinging his weapon at, and any other information that may seem useful. This allow us to picture what's going on rather then just throwing dice.
5. During passive conversation and action (anytime a turn order is not in effect) you may post whenever you want or nothing at all. Please do not hog up the story and push it along before anyone has a chance to type, just be mindful of others.
6. Stay in order. During combat scences or ther times a turn system is in effect, do not jump the line.
7. Do not meta-game. If you know something that your character would not know, then don't use that to your advantage.
8. Use correct grammar. We all have typos and misspellings, but please try to keep them at a miminum, or at least write clearly enough that everyone can understand what you're trying to say.
