Credit to Valraukar for these massive information gains!
- The bandits the party fought earlier seem to have some bizarre operation running where they capture the locals. - The locals are often "drawn" to the forest by some means - Our earlier expositions of "The Scratch" involved similar things, namely a prostitute that heard voices drawing her to the forest - The locals mentioned the bandits "brewing" something, and nobody they took ever returning.
This is everything of significance that I noticed that I can list off the top of my head.
Speculation: We're onto our original quest here, and it might be possible to rescue the noble's daughter, Lucy Garr, and anyone else missing from our characters' lives as a result of the kidnappings. The bandits are very likely brewing "The Scratch", but it's not known by that name to the locals and therefore might be a name used exclusively in Blackdawn City. However, we're also on a timeline for the queen, we need to deliver a letter to a man in Gashmere for the queen. Getting this now-secondary quest done, however, might serve to redeem our earlier criminal spree, at the very least in the eyes of the noble whose daughter was abducted. If we manage to do both the queen's bidding, and rescue the noble's daughter, we're in for a DOUBLE WHAMMY, WOMBO COMBO of praise.
