This is a thread for players to note and discuss things they noticed during a session/quest. Facts, hints, little bits of info that others may have missed during the session that might help formulate IC interactions, and speculations about what those things might mean.
My notes about the quest so far:
SESSION 1
*The noble's daughter is Lucy Garr
*There's a prostitute missing as well
*Prostitute heard whispers for several days before disappearing
*Something about a forest (lack of clarity credited to Bilkin going haywire on the other prostitute)
*The nobles are willing to pay for their missing brood
*The scum of the city are under some kind of influence
*Someone saw pretty much the entire incident with the hobo having a splitting headache
We're working for a noble of the house of Garr.
The kidnappings seem to be indiscriminate, with prostitutes as well as noble brood missing.
The kidnappings might involve enchantment, or drugs, and our only lead is that the prostitute was drawn to the forest by the whispers she heard.
The hobo we fought was acting like a druggie or at the very least a thrall. Possible reasons for this may be that he was getting paid in drugs to kidnap people, or that he'd already been kidnapped and returned "broken". Or both.
This can't be just bandits. It's probably a cult using bandits or other low-life to get their sacrifices/subjects.
Bilkin has every reason to be interested in this; if it IS a cult, they might know something about the Far Realm. The act of rescuing innocents is a bonus, but if he learns something in the process, he'll be a pretty satisfied half-insane warlock.
SESSION 2
*"scratches", or addicts of the scratch, are a huge problem in the slums. The drug is potentially linked to the kidnappings, the city guard said.
*the window man owns a dog
*WE ARE FUGITIVES
*Elena lit up Bilkin's head
*lit up Bilkin's head
*in darkness
*surrounded by archers
*Elena pls
Assumption of kidnappings involving drugs, namely "scratch", is potentially true.
Dogs have been proven (yet again) to be great assistance in law enforcement.
Seeing as we've assaulted the city guard instead of just running away, we're now criminals wanted for the murder of a city guard and the potential mental breakdown of another. The guard least scathed in the fight also happens to be the one we conversed with earlier and knows all our faces. This is on top of the fact that the scuffle was heard by other guards, and assuming regular militia/police solidarity, there's basically nothing we can say that could ever justify us murdering one of their own. "They shot at us" is not a justification, we shot first. Looks like we have 3 options:
*Thug lyf guis (full-murderhobo, this is basically us evading capture, doing quests (MAYBE), and being general troublemakers at all times)
*Enchant a platoon of city guardsmen (also a crime) in an attempt to get a cleaner slate.
*Rescue the noble's daughter and hope the house of Garr is gracious enough to vouch for our upstanding citizenship in the face of irrevocable proof.
We're in a bit of a pickle, I daresay.
