We have to pick a ship. There are 3 to choose from, each with distinct advantages and disadvantages.
The Wayfarer Medium Freighter
Without jumping into jargon, this is a pretty big, heavy ship. It's got a Class 2 hyperdrive (pretty fast for a hauler), room for a pilot, co-pilot, engineer, cargo master, and 6 crew members. It's got a dorsal forward facing quad laser cannon that deals a mysterious "5 Damage". Fits 3 months of supplies for life. A bit of an odd bird, apparently its shipping containers aren't standard (Apple existed even then, the devils), which means we'd be dealing with mostly oddballs whose cargo bays fit them. It's also asymmetrical (put that in just for you, Adam) and has somewhat crap handling, according to the book. I bet if we retrofitted its cargo container slots with big guns we could do something fun with it.
The YT-1300 Light Freighter
An iconic design, this is basically the Millenium Falcon with the main difference being in its hyperdrive, also Class 2 (The Falcon was Class 0.5). There's room for a pilot, a co-pilot/engineer, and 6 passengers. 2 months of supplies. It's got a dorsal and ventral turret-mounted medium laser cannon that deals a slightly more impressive "6 damage" and can be fired in all directions. Its only downside is it's not exactly the most graceful ship in the galaxy, with subpar handling. However, this was obviously the intended ship for parties to use.
The Firespray Patrol Ship
Also an iconic design, this is basically Slave I without Fett's crazy modifications to it. It's got a Class 3 hyperdrive (slower than the two above; Fett's Slave I had a Class 0.7 hyperdrive, which made it only slower than Solo's Falcon). It's got space for one pilot, two "guards" (their words, not mine), and 6 prisoners (aka passengers), which technically gives it more people room than the YT-1300. The coolest part about it is its arsenal. It's got forward mounted auto-blasters that deal "3 damage" but have auto-fire and an ominous looking "5 critical" , where most others have "3 critical" (for more pew pew), and coolest of all, it's got a TRACTOR BEAM. It's also got decent handling, and it's faster than either of the above ships out-of-hyperspace.
So, depending on what we wanna do during these sessions, these are the ships we can pick from. I don't really care about names, but there's one that sticks out in memory from a fantasy pirate campaign a few years back: The Infinity Ogre. So if all else doesn't quite flow, that's the one I'm voting for.
