Hello, and welcome to our game. If you're interested in applying for the Radiant Few plot line, please reply to this thread with a quick character summary. You may use any type of template, but I suggest using something that will set you apart from the other applicants. In your template be sure to include important information about your character that we should know (name, background, conflicts, what makes them tick) and anything else that you feel sets your character apart. You'll also need to tell us what roll your character will play and what species they are. Do not post a finished character sheet, once accepted into the game, you will create your sheet in roll20.
By applying to the game, you are agreeing to check the Discord chat server as often as possible. If you're not able to stay active, please do not apply.

S'up bra. You know me and you know what I'm about. If we're picking up the story again, I'll just stick with Blank.

Yeah, I already figured you were in. We're going to act like that whole boat crash into another realm never happened. So it'll be right after the group returned from Addler Stop.

I could use a PBP game in my life. I have Discord, and I'm on roll20 under the same name I'm using here. I could play as a Wood Elf Open Hand Monk, a High Elf Hunter Ranger, or a variant Human Archfey Warlock/Thief Rogue multiclass, depending on how else the party balances.

The Monk is an orphan, grew up alone, and was trained by Monks after an accident broke her legs and required rehab. She's quiet, sticks to herself, but will be very loyal to those who help her. The Ranger is a folk hero, who saved her village's population, if not the village herself, from monster-borne disaster (the monster type, and thus her Favored Enemy, depends on what we'll be fighting. ) Finally, the Roguelock is a former noble, kidnapped as a child and trained by his kidnapper after his family wouldn't pay the ransom. The kidnapper took him in, rather than kill him, only to die later on the job. The roguelock then sought power, both to continue his mentor's legacy as a mercenary and to make his family pay later.

Hi Corey, and everyone. I'm Samcat from the Knights of the Written Word 2 group on Roll20. I saw your LFP ad in the group's boards, and wanted to say that I'm interested. I have a preference for the play-by-post games so I was automatically drawn to this. I don't have any experience conducting these games through Discord, but if it's alright that I learn as we go, I'll happily commit to the game.
I have a somewhat detailed description of the character I'd like to play written up from a previous campaign I had brought her into (which unfortunately ended abruptly a few months ago), so I'll be using that here:
Callisto Hawthorn 25-year-old Half-Elf Female True Neutral Druid
Personality: Callisto is wholly self-reliant. From an early age, she was left to her own devices, and she has become so accustomed to it that she prefers to do things on her own, seeing any form of help as a sting to her pride. Because she is self-reliant, she has taken up a hermit's lifestyle, and avoids social interaction whenever she can. This choice has hindered her greatly and makes her brusque and short when in conversation, and has also made her very impatient with people when they don't behave according to her wishes. She isn't one for small talk, jokes, or politics of any sort, and is mostly concerned with matters that directly affect her. The less she has to involve herself with the happenings of others, the less dependent on them she needs to be and the more peaceful her life will be (not to mention, if expectations are low there is less disappointment).
Because of her affinity for nature, she holds forests and isolated locales as important and detests anything that harms or upsets the natural balance of things. She harbors a deeply rooted fascination with medicinal plants, and is trying to overcome her dislike of social interactions in order to practice her apothecary knowledge more consistently. To support herself, Callisto takes up any odd jobs that she can find--occasionally selling her medicines when she finds the necessary ingredients for them--and often travels in search of work. She takes her commitments very seriously, and will follow through on any promise she makes or job she accepts in order to uphold her reputation.
Backstory: Born to an elf mother who never wanted her and a human father too busy with his work to give her any attention, Callisto learned early on to be independent. She had a stoic, serious attitude that conflicted with the attitudes of kids her age, and for that reason she spent the majority of her time alone in the woods where she felt comfortable.
While she was still young, her mother left, leaving the child in the care of her distracted father. Grateful for the freedom, Callisto used it and continued to spend her time alone in the woods outside of her hometown. Her affinity for nature continued to grow, and she took a particular interest in plants. Because of this interest, she befriended a man who ran the local apothecary and began to learn his trade until he mysteriously left the town during her mid-teens.
She tried in her mentor's absence to sell her own medicinal remedies but lacked his empathetic kindness, and her failure to follow in his footsteps drove her into further isolation and loneliness in the woods for a few more years. It was well after she was grown that her father, a very prominent political figure in their town, let his own distraction get the better of him and grew terribly ill, and knowing her skills weren't great enough to help him she convinced him to sell everything and seek treatment elsewhere. They left together, and searched until they found a place where her father could be treated and possibly recover from his failing health.
Needing to find a means of providing for herself--what money her family possessed had been used to fund her father's treatment--Callisto set off on her own and now travels in search of work, completing odd jobs and occasionally selling her herbal remedies when she finds the necessary ingredients to make them.
Sorry, it's a bit long. Please feel free to contact me on Roll20 if you have any questions about my character or myself. I like how much effort has been put into this living world, and would enjoy the opportunity to be a part of it. Thanks for the consideration!

Belree, 20 year old halfling sorcerer, draconic bloodline, true neutral Background: Variant Guild Artisan: Guild Merchant
Belree is a halfling sorcerer from a traveling merchant family. Her powers manifested for the first time when she was mugged (unsuccessfully) while going back to the caravan from a tavern after celebrating her first big sale. She's heard about this rich patron (his well-known eccentricity makes him easy to remember, especially among merchants), and figures a job with him would give her an outlet to show off her impressive powers and fill her pockets at the same time. She's most at home in the city or at least in large towns or caravans. She's always looking for win-win solutions to problems, since her family has taught her that her reputation is her most valuable possession.
Personality: Social, practical, almost too self-confident, possessive towards her belongings, contemptuous towards thieves and brutes.

Hi, Walt W. From Knights of the Written Word. I am very interested in your PBP. I am willing to check Discord daily and be an active participant. Here is my character concept:
Gronak Half Orc Barbarian
I came from a tribe of orcs who harbored a bitter hatred of humans. My mother committed the ultimate taboo when she fell in love with my father and gave birth to me. The orc tribe hunted my father down and slew him. My mother was severely beaten and she and I were exiled to the wilderness. When I was 12 years old My mother became ill and died, leaving me to face the harsh wilderness alone. I am now 28 years old. I often frequent civilized lands offering services as hired muscle.

I've already introduced myself on discord
Finarfin Hal-Elf bard Background-Far Traveller Male 23 years old Chaotic Neutral Traits- Crafty,Social, Extremely Selfish, looks down on non-magical people, would do anything for sister
I come from a simple farming town where contact with the outside world was almost non existent and magic was feared and distrusted. So when my human father found love with an elf, he became the pariah of the town and doubled his infamy when my sister and I were born. We were just as despised as our father, perhaps more so since our elven blood gave us latent magical abilities. We learned to focus these abilities through my mother's guidance and we became very skilled in the arcane arts. I also learned to love music and had a talent for it. I combined my two skills into a sort of spellcasting through song and music. At the age of 16, the town ad finally had enough of spellcasters and burnt my family home to the ground. My father and mother died letting us escape. When we were on the run, we quickly realized that we needed to sustain ourselves. So I became a wandering bard, one of the best in Justicor. I learned to live by my wits and magic, travelling from town to town, performing my art and swindling my audiences. I have saved enough that I have bought my sister a home, so she can continue her studies. I would do anything for her; nothing is out of bounds when it comes to my sister.

Name: Sonia Sokolov Race: Wood Elf Class: Monk Background: Urchin Alignment: True Neutral Skills: Athletics, Insight, Perception, Stealth, Sleight of Hand
Personal History: Sonia was left parentless as a very young girl after an outbreak of plague struck the farming village where she was born. Given only an immunity to the disease as consolation, Sonia swiftly left the place of her trauma behind, choosing to take up the life of a drifter; she lived off of a steady diet of natural and charitable resources, moving on to the next settlement whenever one or the other depleted. It was during one of these transitions that she suffered a near-fatal accident that crippled her legs. Fortunately, she was discovered by a monastery leader who happened to be doing his rounds at the time, and he took her in for healing. During her extended stay, her only entertainment was to watch the monks as they trained daily, and, eventually, she was drawn to the mysterious power of Ki, and begged to be instructed in its use. Eventually, the Monks agreed, teaching her first to use Ki on its own, then, when her legs were well, in integrating it into combat. She remained for a time, until her wanderlust got the better of her, and then parted ways with the monastery, promising to one day return, both to learn more and share her experiences.
Physical Description: Sonia stands at 6'1", her slender body well-muscled from an elf's years of training in the Way of the Open Hand. Her skin is oddly pale, hinting at High Elf streaks in her Wood Elf blood. She dresses simply, her chest covered by a single, long strip of cloth that wraps her upper back and modest chest by alternating over and under the shoulders, so that her strong arms and core are clearly visible to any with an urge to pick a fight or stray their hands. Below the waist, she wears breeches of a blend of wool and canvas, laced at either hip, rather than the front. These tuck into dark shinguards of boiled leather whose style matches that of the greaves on her forearms, then emerge from the bottom, providing a layer of comfort. Her feet are clad in light boots that cover back over the shinguards, midway up, and feature a split that allows the big toees to operate independently of the others. Finally, her long, shimmering, platinum-blonde hair is tamed by a trio of braids that are then braided together, themselves, secured at the end by a ribbon that matches her glittering, emerald eyes.
Personality: Like all elves, Sonia's face bears a harsh aloofness in its bone structure that matches, to an extent, her general attitude. However, due to her time amongst other humanoid populations, she lacks the expected xenophobia, and will mingle with them just as freely as with her knife-eared kin. That is to say, not very. Her time alone, coupled with her childhood trauma, makes it difficult and uncomfortable for her to interact with strangers and crowds, much less become close to an individual. That said, if someone were to manage to punch a hole in her emotional armor, that person will find her an unwavering ally, never more that shouting distance away.

Hello! I wish to give text based games a shot once again! Saw your posting on reddit lfg and figured I can make the commitment.
I wish to play a character I used to play before I had to leave my previous group due to issues with the other players.
I wish to play High Elf Cleric Veloren. Background acolyte, age 217, lawful good
Backstory: i aplogize if its loose.Veloren grew up and lived mostly his life in the hands of clerics. His father and mother were both clerics of a certain God ( I'd have to ask about gods in your world, though I'd reach for Iomedae from pathfinder). Above all else justice and oppressing evil is most important. After learning skills his parents felt necessary they sent him away to give himself service to others in hopes to please his God. Veloren cherishes this chance to travel and finally help others in the name of his God. He has been away for a long time now and he has seen atrocities of life that he only heard from his parents. But he never backs down from helping friends or a stranger. There's been a few times where Veloren has seen misfortune from a bad fight with a creature or enemy however he never deterred from completing his duty. The name Shield-Elf follows him to the small villages he visits for this high Elf will defend anyone.
Physical attributes: Veloren stands at 5.10feet and has blonde hair that is medium length that he ties back. His eyes are blue and his skin fair and smooth. His body is slender but sturdy. Through his travels and attempts to help others he has sustained few scars that mostly lay on his hands and arms. These scars are mostly bite or claw marks from monsters he has fought though the odd sword cut can be seen. The clothing he wears is a tailored cassock where the portion below his hip breaks apart in a sort of long tabard. The colours are white primarily with the accent of gold and red. The emblazoned sword of iomedae lies on his back. The armour he wears usually covers this up but he wears armor that still holds the symbol it's back. His sword was given to him by his father which is a good make of longsword that is only differentiates from others with the pommel holding the symbol of iomedae. And shield was given by his mother which is a kite shield that also has much the same on the front of it. He walks and stands flat footed and carries himself with pride and lives by duty. However compassion is written on his slender face.
Personality: Veloren is calm and kind. Soft spoken and speaks with endearment to others. When Veloren speaks to others they almost feel as if he speaks to them as if he knew them since birth. Courteous and polite, but can be witty and funny. However he can be fiercely devoted to the people he helps and defends. If wrong comes to those he cares about, Swift retribution is not far away. He does not ignore other religions or the sort for he believes that everyone should have a belief or person they can all see as a model for themselves.

Hello! I saw your post on /r/lfg and wanted to join this group.
Character: Daronulf
Race: Human
Class: Barbarian
Alignment: Neutral Good
Appearance: Daronulf stands tall at 6'2" and weighs about two hundred pounds. He has a broad build from many years spent training with the warriors from the small village he was from. He has a short beard and has one blue eye and one brown eye. He has red hair. His husband Faranion also has red hair and a short beard, and has dark blue eyes. Daronulf bears a scar on his face from when he was attacked.
Personality: Daronulf is generally an upbeat man, soft spoken and with politeness and respect for those around him. However, he seems to be brooding at other times, often struggling with rage and depression due to failing to protect his husband's family.
Backstory: Daronulf grew up as the second son of a great warrior from a small village in the north, Faranulf, and his wife Breonia. He enjoyed talking to the other warriors in the village. Soon a young human hunter named Faranion entered the village and blacked out near Daronulf's house. The young man was healed, and when he woke up, he explained that he had gotten lost while tracking and had no way to find his way back home due to the fact that a snowstorm had covered up the tracks he had made before. Daronulf agreed to help him find is way home, and while some other warriors help prepare for the journey, the two men developed a relationship and married very quickly after that. When they made it to Faranion's house, they discovered that his family had been captured by bandits. While they returned back to Daronulf's home, the bandits nearly captured the group and ultimately executed Darion's family in front of them. The group managed to kill off the bandits, but Faranion soon became scared and Daronulf became angry and depressed, struggling with the idea that the two men couldn't protect other people. Both men want to find the leader of the bandit group and see justice delivered through any means necessary.

Hello. I am a 4 -year vet at dnd and I love roleplaying. Most of my time I spent with 3.5. I have tried my hand at 5.0 once before. I'm looking forward to playing with you.
Brimir Iron-Heart Dwarf fighter CG Profession: soldier and smith Background Soldier
Brimir is a dwarf hailing from the Iron-Heart clan. He has spent a lot of his life training as a soldier. As part of his training, he had to be able to fix and maintain his armor. He was instructed in the ways of rudimentary smithing. Yet Brimir found that he had a natural affinity to this and made time whenever possible. After an encounter with a band of orcs on one of his patrols, he lost his best friend to a group of orcs. Carrying his Warhammer as a reminder, he decided to pour all his ambition and time into his smithing. He became curious about magic and how he might be able to incorporate it into his craft. Not finding much information in his small city he decided to go out into the world and do some exploring and adventuring to gain knowledge and seek out others such as himself and maybe learn a thing or two from them.
Brimir is a hearty fellow who enjoys a good laugh and a big tankard of ale. He makes friends quickly for dwarven standards and stands by them. He will always try to end a conflict peacefully if possible. Although his experience has taught him that you can't bargain with certain foe. (Orcs)
I hope this gives a good idea of the type of char I want to try and bring to life.

I am Woden. I am a human who made a pact with a God in the name of Ambition. The price was 100 lives in which I wander the various earths and planes with only a skull tattoo encased in blue flame on my left wrist. This mark betrays my past to those in the know. I spend my remaining time in limbo, adventuring. With the rage of a World conqueror I shed blood and tears for my desires. I am tall, imposing and dark haired. My dark eyes accent my resonant and commanding voice. I have no fear in death, and love leading my friends to greatness. Honor and greatness to the very end. want to be barbarian. I have never played by post. I joined Reddit, roll 20, this forum and discord app within the last 24 hours in the pursuit of a good death, or perhaps another kingdom to call my own. Newbie operator issues may be common at first. played 3.5 for last 5 years, with 5th sprinkled in here and there.

Hello I saw your post on Discord, so lets give this a try.
Character: Nym Race: Elf Class: Fighter (archer) Alignment: Neutral Skills: Acrobatics, Animal Handling, History, Survival, Perception
Appearance: A 5’6 elf. He’s a wiry and muscular youth. He has a clean shaven face and a long brown loose ponytail.
Personality: Nym is very task driven, and lives to be in the heart of battle. He fights with skill and purpose trying to work on killing the largest threat then moving down who he deems as the most threatening. He typically tends to not argue unless it's for something he feels strongly about.
Backstory: Nym’s parents died at a young age, and Nym learned how to live off the land. He lived in the forrest next to a small Human village. He would give gifts to the village and help them during times of turmoil. Nym was out hunting one day when he smelled fire and heard screams off in the distance. Rushing through the forest he arrives at the village that is currently burning and being raided by a group of bandits. Nym rained arrows from above and killed the 20 bandits who attacked his friends and destroyed the village. Laying in the middle of the village was a dying young girl who Nym knew, going to her he held her as she died. He buried the villagers of the town, and left the village as far behind as he could. Seething with hate to all barbarians and new need for purpose.
